Part 1: Functional Category Chart For Part 1 of the assignment, you will complete a chart classifying different forms of assistive technology to their functional category (no-tech, low-tech, moderate-tech, or high-tech) with four examples for each. Use your readings from the unit to help you identify appropriate strategies for each when working with children with autism spectrum disorder. Part 2: Assessment Essay For Part 2 of the assignment, you will write a 2–3-page informative essay where you address each of the following: Select one of the assistive technology options you identified in the chart and evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of your selection when working with children with autism spectrum disorder. Consider each of the following in your evaluation: Does this promote greater independence? Why or why not? What role does it play in developing communication and literacy skills? What role does it play in building social competence?
