1. General Assessment Guidance
2. Your summative assessment for this module is made up of two coursework submissions which
accounts for 100% of the marks
3. Please note late submissions will not be marked.
4. You are required to submit all elements of your assessment via Turnitin online access. Only
submissions made via the specified mode will be accepted and hard copies or any other digital
form of submissions (like via email or pen drive etc.) will not be accepted.
5. For coursework, the submission word limit is 5000 words. You must comply with the word count
guidelines. You may submit LESS than 5000 words but not more. Word Count guidelines can be
found on your programme home page and the coursework submission page.
6. Do not put your name or contact details anywhere on your submission. You should only put
your student registration number (SRN) which will ensure your submission is recognised in the
marking process.
7. A total of 100 marks are available for this module assessment, and you are required to achieve
minimum 50% to pass this module.
8. You are required to use only Harvard Referencing System in your submission. Any content which
is already published by other author(s) and is not referenced will be considered as a case of

Management Report (55% – 50% for report and 5% for evidence, weighting of final module grade)
Your formative business research proposal form helps to inform your report and should be attached
as an appendix with your report evidence.
You should undertake a management report of 5,000 words that utilises your ability to apply
knowledge acquired from independent research to the understanding and evaluation of, and
possible recommendations that address a specific and individual business organisation issue or
challenge.

methodology, findings, analysis, conclusions and recommendations.

 The report should clearly outline the topic under investigation and the relevance to the
context. You are expected to draw upon a wide range of management knowledge to inform
your approach and to justify or critique your final conclusions and recommendations.
 Your topic (Title) must be a research question applied to a specific and real organisation or
business. You will need to choose your organisation carefully to ensure you have enough
access to investigate the issue, challenge, or need, from both an internal and external
perspective.
 Ultimately, conclusions and recommendations must be realistic, practical, and supported by
a sufficient evidence base. The work in its entirety must evidence sound professional
judgement and be written and presented in a style suitable for a commercial or business
audience.
The project proposal form identified and discussed above must be submitted and approved before
commencing substantive work on the report. Any concerns on this aspect of the assessment should
be discussed with your tutor or supervisor.
Evidence Appendix (5%)
You will need to submit evidence (collected data) with your management report. The submission
needs to be electronically stored depending on the nature of the data (e.g. a document or pdf file
with interview transcripts or observation notes, excel file with questionnaire data or a collection of
secondary data). You should ensure that how you have analysed and interpreted this data is clearly
presented.
NB: The– Management Report Research Proposal (formative assessment) should be submitted and
approved and included as evidence.
Although it is not a requirement of this assignment, a student may choose to undertake original
research to answer their research question. In this case, the nature of the evidence will be entirely
dependent on the demands of your report and could consist of interview data, field observations,
statistical analysis, etc. Any original data obtained from primary research needs to be electronically
stored and can take many forms depending on the nature of the data, such as interview transcripts,
observation notes, MS Excel files with questionnaire data, or clearly understandable mathematical
workings. Whatever the evidence, you should ensure that how you have analysed and interpreted
this data is clearly presented. Remember that primary data also needs to be properly referenced in
Harvard style in your bibliography.
